Punar Vivah Ek Nayi Umeed: Aamna Sharif, Karan V Grover, Shrishty Rode roped in?

Gurmeet Chaudhary and Kratika Sengar’s Punar Vivah on Zee TV finally draws curtains as the makers come up with an entirely new series to replace it

Punar Vivah Ek Nayi Umeed will continue to talk about remarriage, but in an entirely new way with a fresh ensemble cast.
In the new chapter, the story will revolve around the lives of two young people and their families. “We do not believe in stretching a plot beyond the intended span of its narrative,” Ajay Bhalwankar, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, Content Head Hindi General Entertainment Channel (GEC) said in a statement.
The new version will once again be produced by Shashi-Sumeet. “While the story of Punar Vivah with its original characters of Yash and Aarti has run its full course and comes to an end shortly, we feel that the subject of remarriage offers an extremely interesting canvas for story telling and there are so many layers of a man-woman relationship that can be explored. Hence the new story, the new chapter,” said Bhalwankar.
For the lead roles a lot of names have been circulating in the media and if rumours are to be believed, Karan V Grover (Hum Aapke Hain In-Laws) and Aamna Sharif (Hongey Judaa Na Hum) have been signed on to play the lead roles. The other name floating around is Srishty Rode, who was last seen as Manjari on Star One’s Yeh Ishq Haaye. Srishty will also be playing Karan’s love interest – or so we are told. Now that’s good news indeed. While we’ll miss Gurmeet and Kratika, we hope the makers develop the new story interestingly.
