We saw Vikrant Massey who plays Ayaan Ahmed Khan in Qubool Hai, rehearse his dance steps for the Sangeet ceremony of Asad Ahmed Khan (Karan Singh Grover) and Zoya Farooqui (Surbhi Jyoti). While Karan, Shalini Kapoor who plays Dilshaad Ahmed Khan, Archana Taide who plays Nikhat Ahmed Khan and Nehalaxmi Iyer who plays Najma Ahmed Khan in the show were all gung-ho about the dance that they were to join in, Vikrant had his head down in concentration, playing the steps in his head after Kenil Sanghiv , the choreographer, taught the steps.
They rehearsed for the song over and over again while the lighting for the song was being choreographed by Director of Photography Hrishikesh Gandhi and the camera movement worked out with the Director Lalit Mohan and Kenil. We asked Vikrant for he was the only one who seemed tensed about the dance as to what he was going through at the moment.
He immediately told us, “I have not danced for years. I have only concentrated on my performance. While I did a performance some time back for ITA, dancing has taken a back seat.”
We asked him if he was comfortable with the routine and he smiled shyly saying that he will give it his best. Not unhappy, he liked the idea of pushing himself a little more for his role that involved being flamboyant and in your face with the song that was all beats.
