Happy Birthday Surbhi Jyoti – Zoya Farooqui of Qubool Hai

Zoya Farooqui of Qubool Hai has made a special place in the viewers heart. Whether it is her “Allah Miyan! What’s wrong with you?”, or her dimpled smile which can kill many as she had announced in bhang induced state. She is a girl who every person who watches her wants to have the best in life. Be it finding her father, have a loving family in Dilshaad Ahmed Khan (Shalini Kapoor) and Najma Ahmed Khan (Nehalaxmi Iyer) or the love of her life in Asad Ahmed Khan (Karan Singh Grover).

Surbhi Jyoti who plays Zoya Farooqui is a lovely chirpy girl who every time we meet makes knowing her even more enjoyable. Whether it is her love for loud music and a drive in the car. Yes, have dropped her a couple of times and enjoyed the conversations over the blaring music in the car. One of the questions was how she felt about being a popular girl of a very popular show and her reply was a dimpled simple and “Oh! it is so amazing!” with a twinkle in her eyes. She said she feels humble and while it is a change that people now recognise her and ask for pictures and autograph, she feels it is truly amazing that they like her work. Especially small kids who come and talk to her. We saw at a mall when shooting for a sequence where children thronged to be photographed with her.

One thing we did notice that she is uncomfortable is about is being photographed incessantly without permission. She has posed with anyone and everyone who has asked her for a picture but after clicking one, when one does continue to click her every moment, she does ask the person outright, have you had enough?

Such straight forwardness is appreciable as while one gets used to the lack of privacy while in public, one does not want to photographed every second. But then with popularity, a little price one does pay of losing privacy. However, today is her birthday and we were wanting to visit the set to wish her. But she is on leave and considering that we do not like to invade on personal time, we take this opportunity to wish her the very best.
